California Virtual Academies (CAVA ) powered by K12 are WASC-accredited, tuition-free online public schools with a special strength: helping each of our students engage, connect, and grow as they learn. Designed for students in grades TK–12, CAVA is a network of nine online public schools that serve students in 45 of California’s 58 counties.1
We’ve focused on student success since we opened our virtual school doors in California way back in 2002. Success in school isn’t just about getting an A or passing a test — it’s about developing the strengths, skills, and confidence to move forward independently.
At CAVA, California-credentialed teachers tailor the trusted curriculum from our online school platform, K12, to provide individualized support for each student.
We ask our school community to meet our B.E.A.R. expectations: Be responsible, engage in your learning, aim for success, and respect everyone. By providing rigorous instruction in a caring environment, CAVA helps each student build the knowledge, self-advocacy skills, and resilience they need to pursue their passions.
